Hi All,

Is there a way to online monitor the program running inside Arduino from Open PLC Editor?

Thanks for your replies.

Hi Thiago,

I apologize that I missed the above topic.

Firstly I would like to congratulate you for this beautiful concept and work. As your colleague, I am also an electrical engineer, I have to say that your work is very impressive. I have been working as an automation and maintenance engineer for more than ten years. I read the above topic and I understood that it is not possible to monitor the program online from openplc editor. In my opinion it is a very critical option. You write program and upload it to the cpu. That is ok but after that if there is some problem on the system you need to monitor it from your program. I need to go online to the various CPUs from various brands several times in a day. I hope you add this option as soon as possible. I will be waiting for it.

In addition, I recommend you to add a "cross references" functionality. Because if you have a lot FBs and functions in your program and if you need to track a variable it is nearly impossible to track it without this functionality.

I am sure you already know the topics above better than me. I have just tried to write my opinions.

Thanks again for all these first class works.

Regards.

I agree with you chrysophlax. Online monitoring is very important. However, it is not a straightforward thing to add, and since I'm lacking on time (I'm currently a Ph.D. student) I'm only adding more basic stuff for now. I would love to see the support from the community in helping me to add this. I think it would improve the project a lot!
