A new updated version of the PLCOpen Editor (v1.1) is available on the website: http://www.openplcproject.com/plcopen-editor

Unfortunately, since the format of the .xml file has changed a little bit in this version, it might give errors while trying to open your projects created with the previous version of the PLCOpen Editor (v1.04). In that case, you'll need to start over with your project if you want to use the new editor. I'm sorry!

A good news though is that v1.1 now supports python-wxgtk3.0! For the Linux users, it means that they can run PLCOpenEditor on newer Linux distributions that don't support python-wxgtk2.8 anymore.

Many thanks to Andrey Skvortsov that worked hard in making this new version possible.

Thank You so much, I have been running Ubuntu 14.04 in virtualbox on my host Ubuntu 16.04 just so I could use PLCOpen Editor. Awesome work [smile]

Hey Thiago,

What are the differences between v1.04 and v1.1?
Is it only the Linux/Python support?
Thanks.

The biggest thing is actually the wx-gtk3.0 support, but there are also some bug fixes, small improvements (like scrolling on the bar and see the content refreshing) and new ladder blocks. Anyway, if you're starting a new project, I would highly recommend to use the new version of the editor.

The difference is actually huge. v1.04 uses ancient PLCOpen Editor version. Tons of bugs are fixed.
You can read here all the changes: https://bitbucket.org/skvorl/beremiz/commits/all

Python-wxgt3.0 support has nothing to do with GNU/Linux. This support is especially usefull
just because Windows users happen to use outdated version of the library that is not supported with updates and security fixes for years.
In oposite all GNU/Linux distributions are switched to python-wxgt3.0.

And another small note. Actually PLCOpen Editor isn't released. v1.1 is just a snapshot of current development. You can always get the latest version here: https://bitbucket.org/skvorl/beremiz
