Hi all,

I'm new using openPLC and it seem me and amazing project. I've two questions:
  1. Is there some implementation to OpenPLC supports OPC UA?
  2. Does ScadaBR supports OPC UA?
I'll appreciate the response.

Santiago.

Hi Santiago! Welcome to the forum. There is a pull request on the official OpenPLC github repository that adds OPC UA support. However, that code makes OpenPLC as an OPC UA client, not server, which means that it is connecting to an OPC server to read inputs, and then is writing the outputs back to the server. I don't know if that is the approach you need, but if it is, you can try out that code.

Please provide some feedback after you tried that code, because if it is working properly, I might consider adding it to the official repository.

edit:
Here are the links for this OPC UA pull request

Hi Thiago,

I appreciate your response.

For my use case I would need OPC UA as server in order to connect to a client that would be associated to some Scada (better if it were ScadaBR). In any case, I will test the code and share the output here.

Again, thank you very much!

Santiago

That's what I think most people would need. That's why I haven't accepted the code to the official repository yet.

Has ScadaBR a OPC UA client? I did a quickly search and i found how to configurate OPC Classic but no OPC UA.

Not yet. According to the developers (working on the SCADA-LTS project) there is a plan to add support to OPC UA and MQTT.
