Neelam
Hi,

I am creating my first project in openPLC on raspberry pi. I am trying to run the first program given in reference.
https://www.openplcproject.com/reference-your-first-project
I made almost complete diagram but in the last point I am not able to connect the LED(in parallel with PB1) 2nd terminal to the wiring connection of PB1 and PB2.
I don't know why this is happening. I am an Electronics Engineer and I am very new to PLCs to kindly help why this is happening.

Just drag the wire from the right terminal of the LED contact until the beginning of the left terminal of PB2.

There isn’t anything wrong with your project. Just do what I said. Click and hold from the right side of LED contact (the one in parallel) and drag the mouse, so that it will show a blue line (wiring). Drag this blue line up to the left side of PB2 (mouse must be right on top of PB2) until you see the whole PB2 contact be highlighted in blue. Then drop the line and the connection will be made

Sir i am working on a project IIOT for pharma industry. One of our client have 4 plants and they want us to make a solution for them to count the number of medicine strips, bottles produced daily.I have worked on Rpi,Arduino,ESP8266 and other electronics micro controllers. But when i started searching for industrial solutions then i got to learn that all are PLC based.I am new to PLC so kindly let me know sir which PLC board i should use for counting purpose and they want all the record in a mobile application so for that i have to use a gateway like RPI that why i have installed openPLC on raspberry pi. I want to complete this project asap sir kindly help.

You should get a PLC expert onboard to help you. There are several important concepts related to PLCs like communication protocols, HMI, security, programming, etc that would be really hard to learn just on forum messages.

If you don’t want to have anyone else joining you, then my suggestion is that you approach the problem using the technology you know instead of trying to learn something new last minute.

By the way, answering your questions, in my opinion the most suitable boards for industrial use are UniPi, Neuron PLC, and PiXtend. They are all based on the Raspberry Pi platform. Also, I made a short video showing how to make the connection on your project. Just keep in mind that for some reason the video recording software placed the mouse pointer a little bit higher than where it was supposed to be.

I have no words to say sir. Simply great. Thank you so much for your video and the issue is fixed now.
Actually sir i am working in a startup company and i am the only person in electronics deptt. But i really want to do this so searching solution online.
Yes for sure i am looking for UniPi, PiXtend and their features.Thank you for your response sir.

Sir one more thing I want to know is suppose I am using counter in my openPLC and I want to check the counting of anything like bottles then where I have to check that?
I need the live data from sensors and counters etc.

Connect the count value of your counter to a memory variable like %MW0, %MD0 or %ML0. Then use Modbus commands to read the value live over the network. You can find the mapping of the Modbus addresses here: http://www.openplcproject.com/scada
